Candidates

Once you have submitted your application to Search Associates, we will carefully review all the information. If we believe you are a competitive candidate for overseas placement with us, we will invite you to register with Search Associates.

Recruitment Fairs are by invitation only, and an individual must be actively registered as a Search Associates candidate in order to receive an invitation. Please note also that the candidate registration fees, effective 15 September, 2006, will be US$ 200 for a three year period, or until the candidate is placed in an international school (whether through Search Associates or otherwise), whichever comes first. The $200 fee includes registration at one Search Associates recruitment fair. As has always been the case, there is an additional fee of $50 for registration at each subsequent fair should it be necessary to attend one.

When a candidate accepts a position and is thus no longer available, his or her application will be removed from our database. (The candidate's paper file and on line references will be retained by Search Associates for a period of at least 5 years.) Whenever he or she wishes to reactivate his or her candidacy to find another position, the three year registration cycle begins over again with the submission of a new online application and the payment of a new $200 registration fee.

****Note that the fees quoted above are applicable for Associates who use US $ as the currency of choice. Other Associates are, however, making similar changes in their respective currencies. Registration and Placement fees may be slightly different for candidates who register with Gavin Allen, Bob Barlas, David Cope, Harry Deelman, Rob Graham and Ray Sparks, as outlined in the appropriate sections of this website.

For intern candidates -- There are no placement or registration fees for interns. There is, however, a modest and optional charge of $100.00 for attendance at one of our recruitment fairs (job forums). This charge, which covers a three year period, will also give unlimited access to the Search Associates database containing information about some 500 schools in Canada, the United States and abroad.

PLEASE NOTE that Search Associates has decided upon a major change in its placement fee structure. For all placements taking effect on or after 1 January of 2007, our placement fees will remain substantially the same as they have been for the past 7 years. The difference is that the entire fee will now be paid by the school, and the candidate will no longer be required to pay any part of this fee.
